Accessibility Statement
Gateway is built for neurodivergent learners, and we hold our website to the same standard of inclusion.

Our commitment
Because we serve bright, neurodivergent (twice-exceptional) students, accessibility isn’t an afterthought for us, it’s the point. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, so that families, students, and staff of all abilities can use this site comfortably.
What we’ve built in
- Keyboard friendly, every link, button, and menu can be reached and operated without a mouse, with a visible focus outline and a “skip to main content” link.
- Readable by design, clear type, generous spacing, and color combinations checked for sufficient contrast.
- Calm motion, animations are gentle and never loop; if your device requests reduced motion, we turn them off.
- Descriptive images, meaningful photos include alternative text for screen readers.
- Flexible layout, the site reflows for phones, tablets, and desktops and remains usable when text is enlarged or the page is zoomed.
- Works without scripts, if JavaScript is unavailable, a plain message with our phone number and address still appears.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is never “finished.” We review the site regularly and fix issues as we find them. A few embedded third-party tools, such as maps, the admissions portal, and the parent portal, are outside our direct control, and their accessibility may vary.
Tell us about a barrier
If anything on this site is hard to use, please let us know, we want to fix it and we’re happy to help you get the information you need in the meantime. Email rsweet@gatewayacademy.us or call (480) 998-1071. Please describe the page and the trouble you ran into so we can respond quickly.
