Faculty

All members of the
staff at Gateway Academy strive to demonstrate fairness,
honesty, humility, respect, warmth, and sensitivity in their
relationships with each other and with their students. By making
evident their love of knowledge and passion to teach youth, our
teachers are role models of life-long learning.
The teachers and administration of Gateway are
dedicated professionals who respect one another and value each
other’s expertise. The administrative leadership of the school
believes strongly that its professional staff should participate in
the educational process and welcomes their important contributions,
which the faculty bring to the ongoing development of the
educational program. Students are taught to trust the authority
and guidance of the faculty, administration, and staff, and they are
encouraged to initiate open and honest dialogue concerning academic
and personal issues.

Likewise, Gateway Academy faculty
constitute a community of learners, who pursue new
opportunities for study, create times for reflection, and gather
together for the sharing of ideas. The school regards faculty
development as paramount to the continuous professional growth
of the faculty: we create the programs for professional
development in the school, and encourage individual faculty
members to seek intellectual and professional growth
opportunities through conferences, course work, seminars, and
independent and group study.
